I recently had the distinct pleasure of working with Cass Connolly, Your Mortgage Coach, to bring a more modern feel to her website and put her message front and centre.
Cass' old website had well and truly served its purpose from the inception of her business, but over time her focus and target audience had shifted slightly. Add in a few outdated design elements, and a website overladen with plugins and unnecessary features, and it was well and truly time for a refresh.
Cass had a few requirements for her new site:
- bring more of a personal touch to it
- modernise the colour scheme, and reduce the prevalence of the yellow
- make it easier for her and her content writer to update with new blog posts
- increase the functionality and ease of use for her visitors
I'm a big believer in strong personal brands and showing the face behind the logo, so this project felt perfect for me.
Luckily, Cass had already arranged a photoshoot for some amazing new images which made it so easy to bring forth the person behind the brand. Honestly, receiving images like these are such a joy for me; give me exclusive, original images over stock images any day of the week.
Cass' content writer had also completely rewritten all of her website copy, so we were ready to get started with the design.
I started out by simplifying the structure of the website, reducing the number of pages and clicks users had to make to get the information they needed. Remember, less is more!
Striking banners that had clear messaging, and featured Cass' smiling face drives trust with users, plus makes it nice and modern. I also made sure users knew exactly how to get in touch with Cass for her specialised lending advice, no matter where they were on her site, with her phone number and Calendly link getting pride of place in the header.
I LOVED working with Laura. I couldn't be happier with my new website, and I am getting comments constantly about how great it is.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Laura to anyone who needs a new website. She delivered me exactly what I wanted, and I loved that she was open to suggestions.
I'd love to work with her again one day!

White space was key for this redesign. Creating space is the simplest and most future proof way to modernise a website, and of course met the requirement to reduce the impact of the bright yellow branding.
It's important to me that the fear of WordPress doesn't paralyse my clients. I know how daunting it can be when you first get started, which is exactly why WP training is included in my website design package. In this case, I provided training and a personalised video for Cass and her content writer, so they can easily update content on the static pages, and upload new blog posts when needed.
The end result of this website kind of speaks for itself. Cass' new website is fresh, modern and timeless, ensuring it'll serve her for years to come!
