Kristy Pask is a Marketing and Mindset coach working with product-based businesses to help them become a must-have brand.
Kristy originally came to me looking for some basic updates to her Squarespace site, but eventually decided she was ready to go all-in on a new website. Kristy had been feeling disconnected from her DIY template website and wanted something that would take her to the next level and help her feel truly connected to her brand.
I moved her from Squarespace over to WordPress to provide her with the longevity and growth she needed from her website, updated her brand colours and fonts, introduced some fun new brand elements, sourced some super aligned new stock photography and created some new podcast art for her podcast relaunch!
Kristy's previous website and colour palette was full of beautiful, feminine pastels that were definitely on the "muted" side of things. It was lovely, but to Kristy, it just didn't feel right! She wanted something Palm Springs-inspired, with mid-century design vibes and bold, rich colours.
The palette we chose was all of these things (and more); they really capture Kristy's sunny personality and are perfectly reminiscent of a day at the beach. And the best part is that it's a perfectly functional colour palette, with several colour combo options passing the web content accessibility guidelines for colour contrast.
Deep Ocean
Shallows
Open Sea
White Sand
Tote Bag
Aperol Spritz
To match the fun vibes of this palette, and to provide a strong, eye-catching contrast between the heading and body fonts, we chose Fraunces Black and Nunito Sans. (Both free Google fonts!)
To tie it all together, I introduced some new brand elements such as waves and arrows. This provides visual interest and gives Kristy a unique differentiator to help build brand recognition across platforms. Plus, it can draw attention to key information and encourage user engagement throughout the website! The use of arches in the imagery is also very mid-century.
And finally, I created some podcast art for the rebrand of Kristy's podcast, Unpack This!
Here's what they had to say...
"Laura absolutely nailed my website, I'm now excited and proud to send people to it! I went into the project knowing I needed and wanted a new website, but my branding was all over the place and I just didn't really know what I wanted. Laura was patient and guided me through the entire process and helped me uncover what I liked and how I wanted people to feel when they came across my site.
Laura was amazing to work with and is truly brilliant at what she does. I have already recommended Laura's services and know we will continue to work together for a long time! Thank you, Laura!"
During my 8+ year career in digital marketing working with soulful not-for-profit and innovative companies that are here to make a difference, I found a love of website design and everything that goes into it. Website design is that rare unicorn that lets me combine my creativity with my love of problem-solving, technology and good old-fashioned strategy.
Through my marketing background, I am well-placed to make strategic design choices for your website that not only look good but actually allow your website to function like marketing on automation. Imagine it; your little slice of online that tells your dream customers and clients exactly who you are, while guiding them on a journey that empowers them to make an informed decision about working with you.
I create websites that convert by adhering to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) meaning no website visitor is left behind and utilising tried and true digital marketing techniques. So your website will do the hard work for you, while you’re busy doing what you’re really good at – making the world a better place for your clients and customers.
For 5 years now, I’ve been creating beautiful, functional websites that showcase how remarkable my clients and their businesses truly are.
If you’re ready for an easy to use website that will grow and evolve as you do, that shouts about how remarkable you are to your like-minded community, get in touch.
